Elk River Boxing Club competes at Fright Night Fight night

Elk River Boxing Club competed this past Friday October 13th night at Fright Night Fight Night at the Waco Center at Glenville State College in Glenville WV. Chris Stephens ( Elk River Boxing Club) defeated Spencer Shannon ( Pittsburgh Boxing Club) by unanimous decision. Michael Rucker (Elk River Boxing Club) lost split decision to Raymond Hernandez (304 Boxing Club). Zach Rucker won by walk over from Oscar Gomez (304 Boxing) .IMG_1760

Elk River Boxing Club wins at the Elkins Toughman

This past weekend David Malcomb and Mason McCann from Elk River Boxing Club competed in the 15th annual Elkins Toughman held at the Elkins High School

David Malcomb won the lightweight Division after Defeating Ronnie Dominqiez of Cowan West Virginia.

Mason Malcomb lost a semi final bout via split decision to Joey Morris of Buchanan West Virginia.

Elk River MMA goes 2-0 in Clarksburg WV

img_3257It has been a busy three weeks for Elk River Boxing Club. They have traveled to Martinsburg, Clarksburg, Glenville and St. Albans to compete in various competitions from boxing and MMA to karate, and Judo.  Their most recent event took place in Clarksburg, West Virginia at the Hard Knocks cage fights where they went 2-0. William “Blake” Whittington, of Clendenin, defeated Jake Wickline, of Frostburg, Maryland to raise his record to 4-1. Tyler Harper, of Clendenin, defeated Densel Chapman, of Logan, WV for his first win in an MMA amateur competition. Coach Rob Fletcher says he is “very excited about the wins and so happy about all of the competitions Elk River Boxing Club and Elk River MMA has participated in this year. Even after the flood, our kids have been extremely successful and hard working”. Elk River Boxing Club will be back in action after the first of the year and will competing in many events so be prepared to hear more from them in 2017.
